pringle

god, i love pringle. so quintessentially british but with an with understated scandinavian structure to it. clare waight keller knows how to translate a 196 year old heritage brand into the contemporary and fashionable. it's the knits the customers come back for and of course the summer (in britain??!) season is a little trickier to pull in the same revenue. so this time a sporty minimal take on the traditional kilts and knits proved another risk but a risk that's going to appeal to a wider clientele. a continuation of her crisp resort collection inspired by peter lindberg photographs she cited a woman's pragmatism vs frivolity as the departure point here. aran knits, fine cable knits, loose knits and fringing were paired with asymmetrical kilts featuring the apron often seen last week in new york. and as for the very understated frivolous role? feathery sandals, sheer black chiffon over white added a less severe angle.
